Why do we buy 30, 40, 50 year old cars? Well it is not for transportation. It is about a memory. That car you should have never sold; that car that you have imagined owning all your life or is it because that car and memory are so entwined that they become one?
In my case it is a little bit of all these things. I had the pleasure of coming across Marc’s website and then had the good fortune of meeting Marc. Now I have bought over the years a lot of cars….some late models and some classic cars. I get sold on the person way before I get excited about the car. When I met Marc, I knew I had met someone I could trust. With that question out of the way, I could focus on finding the car that filled that distant memory.
In my case it was a Pale Primrose 1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster. One very important piece of the puzzle was a working armrest glove box. You see that is where I pulled out the engagement ring when I proposed to my wife over 40 years ago. These memories you don’t just trust with anyone and with Marc Corea the memory is secure.
I also bought earlier in the year a 1965 Austin Healey 3000…..now that memory I’ll keep to myself…..
